The Pictures Speak for Themselves

What a great day!!! I think we can safely say we had a successful hook-in in Springfield, MO. yesterday. From the smiles on every one's faces anyway, I'd say we all had a ball. And when asked if they wanted to come back next year the answer was on overwhelmingly YES!!!

Here are the people...

Today...Pictures. Tomorrow...places and things!

We had an impromptu rug show out on the decks of the boat house. I think I got a photo of all of the rugs. Be sure to check back in tomorrow for the pics.
Have a great Sunday...
Peace,
Sheri

Only two more days

Until the Springfield, MO. hook-in.

It's supposed to rain part of the day on Saturday. Just in the morning, I think. They said we could put our chairs out on the deck and hook. That would be so great. It's so peaceful and beautiful at Lake Springfield. In the evening the deer come up so close you could almost touch them. I suppose they're almost tame since they live there and are used to seeing people every day. Almost every night there are people pulled over to the side of the road watching and taking pictures.

I can't wait to meet Patti of Saltbox Primitive Woolens and her friend Katie, with whom I've formed an internet friendship with. It will be great to meet her in person! Patti will be a vendor with all of her beautiful wool and patterns. Her shop is in Warsaw, MO. About three hours from here (I think!)

Tammy was so nice as to let me set up a little corner of my things for sale too.

These journals...

I also hand-dyed these beautiful aprons. I was dyeing wool the other day and got a few spots of dye on my shirt. If I had an apron that was already dyed, it wouldn't have shown. The dyed aprons were born!!!

And of course the t-shirts and bags I already showed you. I still haven't got them on Etsy, but I did get my shop set up yesterday. Boy...that's TIME CONSUMING!Then to list the items for sale will take another hunk of time it looks like.

I'm also still trying to put the pillow together I hooked for my mom for her birthday. I'm having alot of difficulty with this one! Some times they go together easily, sometimes it's like I've never done this before!!!

I'm making the back in two pieces, like an envelope. Leaving an opening in the middle for the pillow form. I've never done it like this before but it seemed like a good idea at the moment.

I promise to take lots of pictures at the hook-in. I've already got my tri-pod set out along with my things for sale. Hopefully I won't have to do anything tomorrow but polish my fingernails! Mickey keeps cautioning me not to overdo it or I won't feel like doing anything by the weekend.

This is the next pattern I'm going to hook. I'll take it with me Saturday. Dulcy made one for her coffee table and it's Gorgeous!!! You may see it on her blog here: http://dulcysdoorstep.blogspot.com/. It was a free pattern in Rug Hooking Magazine a few months ago and Dulcy, being the wild child she is, hooked it in delicious colors!!!!

And speaking of wild child...Tammy is really revving up her dye colors for spring! You may see them on her blog:http://skiptomyewe.blogspot.com/ . She has also posted directions to the hook-in on her blog.

My best to all of you,

Sheri

Here are the keychains I made

and some other stuff!!! I love to make jewelry and have a large cabinet full of beads, so I thought I would make some key chains for the hook-in too. You may also purchase these on the blog. They are $7.00 each and will have a $2.00 shipping charge.

I will also make these with your name, pets name, I heart Yorkies, etc. Just email me with your request. I'll be happy to make one for you.

Also made these purses and tote bags.

This one is 12" high by 16" wide. It's heavy weight cotton tote with a pocket on the front. Navy blue trim and two handles. $14.00 plus $4.00 shipping. Always just one dollar more for multiple shipping.

Also 12" by 16" with red trim:

This is a large heavy canvas tote bag that measures 16"h by 18"w with a 6.5" gusseted bottom. Very roomy. Perfect for grocery shopping!!! Only one of these left. It sells for $16.00 + 4.00 shipping.

This purse is made of jute burlap with a plastic lined (wipeable) interior. It measures 13.5" h by 16" w. with a 6" gusset bottom. It sells for $14.00 and has a small zippered interior pocket. Only a few of these left also!

Also of the same material and size ~ different color. It's an orangy-red.

... this one measures 13.5"h by 16.5" w with a 5.5" gusset bottom. It also has a little coin purse attached with a cord to the inside of the bag. Great spring color. It also sells for $14.00. Sorry, very poor picture. It says, "fear not little flock".

And the last of the totes is very large. Great for all your hooking or knitting projects. It measures 12"h by 18" w with a 6" deep bottom. It has a top velcro closure and a zippered pocket (small) inside. It sells for, you guessed it...$14.00!!!

There will still be more stuff added tomorrow! Thanks for looking. Just email me with your questions, orders and special requests.
Peace,
Sheri

I've been busy making stuff for the hook-in

Our local hook-in in Springfield, MO. is just one week away! It's being held on the 18th of April at the Boathouse at Lake Springfield. Tammy said so far there are 60 people signed up. I've been making things to sell at the hook in.

First I made t-shirts. I have a dozen of them. I'm not quite sure if I should take orders or just sell them outright.(at the hook-in) It is impossible to know what color and size and saying a person might want. So I might be better off taking orders and shipping them. I will add all of this stuff to my etsy store soon too. It is ShabbySheep Crafts.etsy.com. These are all my designs for the shirts and the other items. I've used vintage photos and added my own sayings to them.

You may also purchase the shirts directly from my blog too. They are made from 50% polyester, 50% cotton and sell for $18.00. Size 2X and 3X are available for an additional $2.00. You may email me or add a comment here to order. I know that white, black and gray will always be available in the shirts. Other colors are not always available and I would be happy to see if I can make one in the color you request. They come in sizes small, medium, large, extra large and like I said 2X and 3X. Postage will be $4.00 for the first shirt and $1.00 extra for each additional shirt in the order. I accept Pay-pal, money order and personal checks. I will ship your order after your personal check clears.

I'll also show you the cosmetic/hooking bags I have for sale. I only have six of these left and I'm sorry to say that I can't get these anymore. So once they're gone....they're gone!! They are $8.00 each with another $3.00 f0r shipping. Like always, I will combine shipping. I keep my hook, scissors, tweezers and a marker in mine.

These bags are made of cotton and measure 7" tall by 8.5 " wide. Great size for in your purse! Great springy colors too!

I'll post again tomorrow and show you the purses, key chains and magnets I am offering for sale. Like I said, I've been busy!!!

Feel free to email me and ask questions: shabbysheeprugs@yahoo.com

Talk to you tomorrow!
Let the beauty you love be what you do...
