Hubby's rug is finished and wrapped

I think he'll love it. He really has fishing on the brain. And he loves to go alone. Something I don't think a woman would ever think about. What about the boogie-man? He walks for miles up and down the river and sees many different people. It makes me uneasy for him, but he says all "river people" are nice.

Here's a pic of the finished rug. It measures 31" by 27". And says, "not all who wander are lost."

And here's the label I sewed to the back. I've been using the print on fabric that comes in a package and sewing it on for labels. I like it much better than trying to write with a Sharpie. Looks more professional too.

Over at MSN on a rug hooking board, "Wool Snippets" we had a Secret Santa exchange. I received my package this week. Lots of nice stuff from Susi Seyller in Virginia. Thanks again, Susi. She even put in some scrapbooking stuff for Jimmie Dean!!! How thoughtful is that? And look at the beautiful hooked angel ornament she made. Also a 2008 Hallmark ornie, 4 beautiful pieces of wool, penguin socks, note cards from Primitives by Kathy, chocolate, and some snowman kleenex. It was quite a gift to get in the mail from someone I don't even know. It was great fun putting the box together from me to my secret person too. Haven't heard yet if she has received it or not.

Our weather has been crazy all week, warm, cold, high pressure, low pressure. It's made my fibromyalgia flare and I've pretty much been in bed or on the couch all week. Last night at Simply Fibers was our hooking group and they ordered pizza and had a Christmas party. I had to miss it. Boo Hoo. And our granddaughters Christmas program at school was Monday night. Missed that too. I was really looking forward to that. There's nothing better than the sound of little kids singing Christmas carols. They're so excited and innocent. The commercialism hasn't really caught up to them in grade school. Wish we could go back to the way things used to be regarding Christmas, but I guess people have been using that phrase about a lot of things for many years. But I still wish we could simplify it and just celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.

Like I always say, all we need to do is watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" to get the real meaning.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas,

Peace,

Sheri

I haven't been feeling too hot either--the cold just kills me.
Sheri, your rug for your hubby is just great-he will love it. And I love your Santa rug with his 3-D beard. You get so much done. Jimmie Dean cracks me up! He is the cutest in his new sweater. We have (Or I should say my dh has) this huge Golden--even his tail is deadly! But he is a sweetheart! I wish I had a little dog, but will settle for my cat, Petey, for now. Maybe I will make it to Simply Fibers one of these days. Until then, have a wonderful Holiday Season. Love, Jeanne

Sheri, the rug for your husband is beautiful. I'm sure he'll love it and will always bring memories to mind when he looks at it.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been hurting that much.....but to be truthful, so am I. I'm so hot all the time but my hands, wrists, shoulders, knees, ankles, feet, oh, heavens, ALL of me, is hurting. I so wish my doctor and I could find a pain med that actually works!!

JoJo, I'm sorry about your pain too. And hot??? It's supposed to be in the teens tomorrow and I MIGHT put a coat on!!!
Also I went to a new Dr. Friday that is supposed to be a FM guru. He is an M.D. who is a Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Dr. He says I am the perfect candidate for his program. Physical therapy and psycological therapy (tense muscles = pain) I need to learn to relax!!! No S**t!! I don't need to pay someone to tell me that my muscles are tense, believe me I know it. And I don't think anyone can actually teach a "type A" to relax. Especially one diagnosed with ADD also!!! I'm going to keep working on rugs for my therapy for now. It really does relax me to get into a rythym of hooking--also helps to divert my thinking from "pain" to hooking.
Merry Christmas
