Ready for my surprise?

Hint number one…

me as a brunette

Number two…

Surprise!!!

DSCN5423

I’ve been a blond my whole life!  Until October of 2007 when I decided to see what it would be like to be a brunette!  My sister is the true brunette of the  family and she’s blonde now!

Of course now I have to change my whole make up palette too!  But see how my eyebrows match my blond hair?  I have been in a Funk lately and just couldn’t get out of it.  I just attributed it to not feeling well.  But I kept looking in the mirror and not liking who I saw!  I told my mom and she said they had been talking about my hair too!  And  that I’m a blond!

Now I’m saving my money to get this turkey wattle of a chin cut off!  I’ve already seen a surgeon.  What I am wanting is called The Lifestyle Lift.  It’s really just a mini facelift that lifts everything from your nostrils down.  But it’s an in office procedure that only takes one hour!!!  Now to get that $4000.00 saved.  My chin is completely inherited from my dad!!!  (My dad is blond too)  And his side of the family the women have these HUGE upper arms.  Guess who also inherited that?  LOL  My dad told me his mother used to have to have inserts added to the arms of her dresses when she got older!  GREAT…. Do they have an arm flab reducing surgery too?  I Love modern medicine!!!  But I’m afraid by the time I get that much cash saved the cost will have risen.  Gotta have a goal though!

I’ve been dyeing wool since early this morning.  Just taking a little break to eat a sandwich.

Let me know your opinions about blond versus brunette!  It won’t bother me either way.  Those of you who have known me for a long time will say blond.  I asked Mickey if it was weird looking at me and he said no, I just look like Sheri!   I don’t know if I told you, but when I changed to brown he wouldn’t even come close to me for a couple of days! Really….he wouldn’t even touch my arm!  He said I was like a stranger!

Hope you have a great weekend,

Peace,

Sheri

Sheri,
I love the blonde. It softens your lovely features! Hope it helps to lift the mood....we so need to take care of ourselves and pamper and change if need be! Just like the change in the seasons it does our souls good to change with it! Love it! Cathy G

Sheri,
You look 20 years younger with blond. I have the same problem, I have always been blond and got tired of dying it to keep it that way, just isn't me, but I do not like being a bleached blond either. What shade did you get, looks really nice. And your chin is fine, you are a beautiful woman, take the 4000 and go on a cruise or a nice vacation;)

Sheri, you are a beautiful woman no matter what color your hair is. But I agree that blonde is quite becoming on you. Your face is pretty and I also think you should save the money for something fun. Who cares if we don't look 29 anymore. We've earned our wrinkles through living life!
Hugs,
Lauri

I agree with all the comments - no surgery needed! Be happy with what you have and knowing where it came from - it's a continuation of your family! (I'm adopted and don't have a clue about any of my "problems!" LOL) Blonde works for you and the brunette too I think - red would be good too! Yep I'm no help!

Sheri, I like you as a blonde but it will take a while to get used to it. As far as I'm concerned, I "met" you as a brunette. So the blonde, although very becoming, is throwing me off a bit.

What is your natural color? Is it blonde? People are always asking me what coloring stuff I use on my hair, until I explain that it's all natural. See the gray coming in at the temples? That's all me.

As for your step-children, hey, I've got one of those too. My kids are 39 and 36 and Gerry's son, who lives in Maine, is 38. He and Gerry aren't particularly close since Gerry spent his whole life moving around because of the Coast Guard. (Gerry and his ex were divorced when Craig was 3). But several months ago, we got an email that Craig's wife had walked out on him. We were in Maine for their wedding in 2004.

Thanks for 'splainin' all this to me. What can I say ~~~ I didn't know!!

Thank you all for the kind compliments!!! I'm already LOVIN' being a blond! They really do have more fun.
And BTW my natural color is kind of "mousey" blond. Squeak squeak

DEAR SHERRI,

I can't decide, since all I've seen is your picture as a brunette, but I think BLONDE. If I worried about my chin, I'd have to worry about BOTH of them!! LOL
You look great just as you are!!
Take care!

Sheri, I think people used to refer to my hair color as "dishwater blonde." I have no idea what that's supposed to mean. I know I'm not a towhead....my son had that very light blonde hair when he was little...now his hair is brown. My daughter has dark blonde hair. And my 3 sisters all either color or frost their hair to keep the blonde going. I'm the only one who's still natural.

I've only colored my hair over one summer...1984. Gerry and I had just gotten married and we were living in an apartment that had a pool. I spent a lot of time in that pool and used Sun In on my hair. We both loved the lighter blonde color but it was hard on my hair.

At my age, I don't even style my hair any longer ~~~~ it's strictly wash and wear. My hair's too fine to hold a curl so I gave away my curling brush years ago. I like the easier, no fuss style.

You look absolutely fabulous as a blonde, and I'm sure your mood will lighten as well. And there's nothing like getting new makeup to give you a lift.

My hair is very white/grey - or as I say - white blonde. It has been getting there since I was about 25. I used to highlight it to make the grey blend. I don't have to anymore!!! And I love it!

As to the turkey neck and the "flying squirrel" arms, I just figure they're a reminder of what great lives we've led. And they kinda go with everything else, unfortunately. I hate looking down and seeing my mother's body looking back at me, but there's too much to "take in".

Enjoy your new you. You look fantastic!!!
