Finally finished the antique star rug!

The one I found a picture of on an online auction of antiques.  I had written 2009 on the bottom of the linen.  I'll make a label for the back and make it 2010!  I sure couldn't hook while getting chemo and the other treatments.  Sooo glad that's over.

I also put the finishing touches on the whole house makeover on Tuesday.  Just before (literally minutes before) my dinner party for my out of town guests!  My niece Angie, and her daughter Zoie are visiting from Indiana and my aunt Sonja and her daughter Melissa and kids, Max and Morgan are visiting from Florida.  I love an excuse for entertaining and what could be better than guests from two states?

That's my mom, dad and sister (and Missy in the mirror.)

Angie and Zoie.  I taught Zoie to rug hook in about two minutes!!!  She drew a pattern and I'm going to make her a kit and mail it to her!

Morgan is four. (We had spaghetti for dinner! I missed a spot on her mouth when I washed it~Not a mom!)

Max is seven and so involved in the family conversation!!!

Tomorrow I'll post pictures of the house redo.  I did it all on a Tight Budget.  But I think I did great by adding some garage sale "treasures".

Talk to you tomorrow

Peace,

Sheri

Sheri,
Wow, you look marvelous! Your family is beautiful! Can't wait to see what you've done with your house! It's great to see you being able to accomplish so much after all you've been through. Your rug is a wonderful folk art piece of which you should be proud! Wishing you the best of everything in all you choose to do!

Thanks for sharing! You look "mahvelous" and have a great looking family.
Your rug is phenomenal!!!
Looking forward to your home re-do. We're all on a tight budget, aren't we? Makes decorating more of a challenge, but I think it brings out our creativity.
Pug hugs :)

Sheri,
Isn't it great to finish a UFO? I just finished one I started in 2008!! This one I think I might even actually finish the edges with yarn.
Your rug is gorgeous and you are looking pretty good yourself. Now, when did you find the energy to re-do the house? Can't wait to see!
Peace and happiness!

Woke up in the wee hours and tossed and turned and finally gave in to checking my site.
Now after finding your comment on it I am glad I got out of bed.
It was sweet of you to take the time to send me such a encouraging comment.
So sorry you have been going through all those treatments. I know you must be mentally and physically worn out. That is what I remember about treatments.
You look really good in your picture and yes you do look alike.
A positive attitude is what got me through my last cancer and that is why I have to get strong really fast just in case the news is not good with next week. I think the fall and me being laid up for two months has me too down and I need to just pull myself up and deal with whatever comes my way.
Being alone this time too might be one of my problems too but I have the support of blogland and boy is that one great support group.
I have tried all the hobbies you mention in your profile but never the rug hooking and it has always been in the back of mind to do.
Wish you could teach me in ten minutes.
Thanks again for visiting and leaving me a message. We must keep in touch.
I pray you stay well and enjoy a lot more entertaining with family and friends.
Your Antique Star Rug is beautiful
Love
Maggie
