Chicken rug is finished

At least the hooking is finished. I am going to bind this one with wool strips. I haven't ever finished one that way. I think it will wear much better. I have just turned the edges under for the photo. And I was going to hook a couple more border lines around it, but I think it's just fine.

Much to the dismay of my mother, husband and friends, I still plan on putting it in front of the kitchen sink. That's the place I made it to go. If it gets dirty I'll deal with it then.

I try not to worry unnecessarily over things that may or may not happen. It makes my life alot easier, not worrying all the time. Hey the world could end tomorrow. Would you have wanted to spend your last day on earth miserably?

Watercolor USA opened yesterday at the Springfield Art Museum. After I finish this post we're going to go take a look. It's only about five minutes, if that from our house. I know they won't allow picture taking in the museum though. I hope it's as good as last years.

Have a relaxing Sunday and don't worry about Anything!

Peace,
Sheri

Hey Sheri...great job on your chicken rug!!! And, YAY for you...to put it on the floor. I JUST put one of my rugs on the floor...course, it's in a place where it won't get much traffic. ~grin~

I used to whip the edges with wool strips...love the primitive look...any stray threads stayed in place...to help along the primitiveness of it all.

Love the colors in your rug. I made one with my chicken house and it is in front of the sink and it gets dirty. That is why I used brights and darks;)

Sheri, ignore everybody and use the rug where you want. Life is too short....and all too often, filled with pain, to let others tell you what to do! This way, every time you're standing at the sink, you can look down at your feet and smile!

Sheri,
Just think how much more awesome it will be when it gets that time-worn patina!!!
I feel a play day coming on!

Hi Sheri,

I love your chicken rug and I too am a person who believes that they should go where they need to. I am part way through one for my kitchen sink. I did use wool yarn and rug warp, so I won't be worrying about burlap, but I fully intend to use it there, and will undoubtedly "season" it with lots of stuff.

I have one in my bathroom in front of the sink (mind you, it's polar fleece), but so far, so good.

We can all compare notes a year from now.
